Handicapping
The principle for handicapping for the sailing pursuit will be based, as far as possible on the PY system. Determination and refinement of handicap ratings will be based on the best information available; this will include local knowledge and event policy.The handicap rating will be used to establish starting times so that the order in which the finishing line is crossed is the finish position for the sailing event, subject only to corrections resulting from penalties (e.g.premature starts) and sailing committee actions (e.g delayed starts).
The priority listing for prize distribution and allocation will take into account other challenging factors (e.g. value of declared sponsorship).
